High School: Electives

Driver's Ed.

Driver Education class will begin June 9th. Students who will be 14 years of age before June 1st will be eligible to enroll. The course fee is $25, and is due April 4th. There will be a sign up sheet in the office. On Friday, April 4th at 10:30 a.m. there will be a mandatory meeting for students enrolled in Driver Education.

The classroom portion of the course involves 10 days of instruction. Students must complete course work with a score of 80% or better in order to pass. Students will be engaged in a variety of activities including textbook and Kansas driving handbook lessons, videos, and guest speakers. The behind-the-wheel portion of the class will include basic driving procedures, parking, as well as city, rural, and highway driving. Students must consistently and successfully complete each of the driving competencies without instructor prompt in order to pass.
