Happy Spring! The K-6 music students have been very busy learning how to perform a variety of music skills. We’ve been learning to keep and play a steady beat. We’ve been learning how to count with several counting songs in the Kindergarten and first grade. The third through sixth graders have been working on rhythm, learning how to clap, count, and play difficult rhythms. Once a week, we play Orff instruments (xylophones, glockenspiels, metallophones) as well as drums. This is probably one of the student’s favorite days of the week in music.
We are now gearing up for our spring concerts!
The 4-6 graders will have their music and band concert on Thursday,
May 15, at 9:30 a.m. in the high school auditorium. The 4-6 concert
will have a variety of musical styles, songs, and
movements. The
K-3 graders will have their spring concert on Monday, May 19, at
7:00 p.m., and is also in the high school auditorium. The K-3
concert will feature many Mother Goose rhymes and lots of
instruments and props! These will our last performances of the
year, and you won’t want to miss them. So be sure to mark your
calendars!
