Grade School: 3rd - 4th Grades

Fourth Grade News

By Gala Liebelt

April 24, 2008

We are finished taking the Kansas State Reading and Math Assessments. The students have worked very hard this year. There will be a field trip to Boot Hill in Dodge City on May 7 for the students with a score in the top two categories in both tests.

Miss Patton has been teaching Science to all the 4th Graders this year. They will take a Kansas State Science Assessment in May.

I teach all the 4th Grade Social Studies. They know all 50 states in our United States of America. They can label a map with the name of the state, capital, abbreviations, ocean borders and country borders. We are singing songs about the states & capitals. We are having fun as well as learning! We need to be aware of our country and know where important places are.

We are planning our Annual 4th Grade Field Trip to Hard Rock Lanes in Garden City. We always have fun bowling and playing miniature golf. Then we go to the zoo to eat our lunch and look at the animals.

Many AR point goals, comprehension goals, and certification goals have been earned this year. Congratulations!!! We have had a great year in fourth grade this year! Parents, please encourage your students to read throughout the summer.
