JUNIOR HIGH SOCIAL STUDIES
Students B.Bencomo & E.Stalker

We started the second semester with Kansas History. Every week we do a Kansas project and report in which we research information, pictures, charts or sometimes we can even choose to write a song or poem about Kansas . We then present our findings to the class on Friday.
We took a break from our projects and reports to work on an even bigger report, our Kansas state historical maps (K.S.H.M.). We found and researched twenty-five different historical locations in Kansas. We would also find a picture of this location and place it on the map. We would place the information about each picture on the back of the poster. On March 4th the K.S.H.M. was graded and placed for display on the bulletin boards in the commons area.
After we finished the K.S.H.M. we went back to work on our projects and reports. Just like the K.S.H.M. (worth 200 points), our projects and reports count for a lot of our grade. We also read a lesson every week and after each lesson we have a written assignment over what we have read. On Wednesdays we have a Jeopardy Review that helps us study for our chapter test.
Although this may seem like a lot, Mr. Williams makes sure that we stay on task. We sure have learned a lot from Mr. Williams and we hope other students to come will also learn many things about Kansas.
