Satanta High School Scholars’ Bowl Takes League Championship, Regional Championship, State Bound

The Satanta High School scholars’ bowl team is state bound having captured the Hi-Plains League title at Sublette on January 27 with an overall tournament record of 10-0 and being crowned 1A Regional Champions at Satanta on February 4 completing the tournament with a record of 9-1. The regional team (consisting of seniors S. Evans, J. Apsley, and H. Pickens; junior M. Bailly; and freshmen R. Zimmerman) will next travel to the 1A State Scholars’ Bowl Competition to be held on February 13 at Flint Hills High School in Rosalia.
These accomplishments top off a very successful season of scholars’ bowl for Satanta that also included a third place finish at the Meade tournament, a fourth place finish at Lakin, a third place finish at Syracuse, a second place finish at Satanta, a first place finish at Cimarron, a third place finish at SWH, and a fourth place finish at South Gray, which resulted in a an overall head-to-head record of 83-20. In addition to these varsity honors, the Satanta junior varsity team took first place honors at the Sublette JV meet and fourth at Elkhart.
