5th Grade Field Trip to Hays

The 5th grade field trip was really, really awesome. First of all, we were about 2 hours away from Satanta and 45 minutes away from Hays when our green bus broke down. But thanks to Pawnee Heights (who let us borrow a bus), we made it. We just want to say thank to Pawnee Heights for trusting us with their bus.

What we saw at Sternberg Museum was amazing. We got to see a model of Titanoboa, a really long snake. It was the longest snake that ever existed. We also got to see bones and fossils of all different kinds of animals. We got to see pythons and rattlesnakes. We even got to hold a tame snake.

Then we went to Fort Hays State University. First, we saw the Memorial Union. At the library, we saw a scale model of the university. Then we visited a one-room schoolhouse, where we played old-fashioned games like hopscotch, a hoop relay, and cat’s cradle. We learned what school was like in the 1800s.

When we left, we were all really happy. This is the best (and longest) field trip ever.
