Satanta FCCLA members and Family and Consumer Sciences students recently presented nutrition/wellness lessons in some Satanta Elementary School classes. This is a part of Satanta FCCLA’s project for the FCCLA Student Body national peer education program helps young people learn to eat right, be fit, and make healthy choices. Its goals are to: help young people make informed, responsible decisions about their health, provide youth opportunities to teach others, and develop healthy lifestyles, as well as communication and leadership skills.
FCCLA member, Annie Tyler, and FACS student, Joni Loepky, teach 2nd graders about the importance of eating Dairy Products. At the conclusion of their lesson the 2nd graders made ice cream in a bag which they all enjoyed.
Satanta FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) Chapter recently attended District elections where Monet Howe was elected District President and Adan Gutierrez was elected Vice President of Records (Secretary) for 2015-16 year.
