Satanta FCCLA Qualifies Twelve for State Competition

Satanta Jr-Sr High hosted FCCLA Star Events this year with 12 different schools competing on Feb. 8, 2017. FCCLA stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America and is a co-curricular organization that aims to help youth in public and private schools with family bonds, and career planning, and participation in the community. Judy Stuckey is the FCCLA advisor and was able to get 12 students qualified for state. They will be traveling to Wichita, Kansas, on for state competition at the Marriott Hotel, reperforming their Star Events and hoping to earn the right to compete at nationals.
This years state qualifiers are Monet Howe, winning in Chapter Service Project Display; Kara Kunselman, Illustrated Talk; Paige Lalicker, Chapter in Review Portfolio; Madison Ross, Chapter in Review Portfolio; Gysel Najera, Chapter in Review Portfolio; Ella Burrows, Promote and Publicize; Addison King, Career Investigation; Maylea Alexander, Food Innovations; Raeanne Blevins, Chapter in Review Display; Ava Howie, National Programs in Action; Maddison Jaso, National Programs in Action; and Alba Najera, National Programs in Action. Also participating in were Gabriela Johnson, Teach and Train; Sicely Jackson, Recycle and Redesign; Jaylen Sundland, Focus on Children; and Sean Wagner, Focus on Children. Melissa King and Adan Gutierrez also competed in Chapter Website, which will be judged later at the national level.
