By Jacob Loewen

Cory Bixler is the new junior high science teacher at Satanta Jr.-Sr. High School. Before Bixler came to Satanta, he was teaching at Stanton County High School as a high school biology and chemistry teacher. Before his time at Stanton County, he taught at Moscow in the science field. Before his work at Moscow, he taught at Ness City High School teaching biology and physical science. He earned his teaching degree at K-State and was there for five years. Bixler graduated from Stanton County High School.

Passionate about sports, Bixler decided to continue coaching at Satanta where he will help coach junior high football, high school boys basketball, and junior high track. When asked about how he came across the teaching position in Satanta, he noted, “I noticed the job was open, and a friend of mine suggested for me to apply, and it turned out to be a pretty good situation.”

Bixler’s mother, who is retired from the US Postal Service, lives in Colorado. He has an older brother who is in the military and works as a Apache helicopter pilot. He also has an older sister who lives in Montana. Bixler lives in Moscow and commutes to Satanta each day. Welcome to the tribe, Mr. Bixler!
