Satanta High School Volleyball Places Fourth in Pre-season Tournament

The Satanta High School volleyball team started off a new season with two new coaches: head coach Joyce Apsley and assistant coach Libby Warrick. This year’s season started out with the Satanta Pre-season Invitational tournament on Saturday, August 25, 2018. The schools that were invited were divided into two pools. Pool A consisted of Kiowa County, Moscow, Satanta, and Stanton County. In Pool B, teams came from South Central, Sublette, Elkhart, and Dighton. To get of out the pool play, teams had to capture first or second in their pool. Kiowa County and Satanta emerged from Pool A, South Central and Sublette from Pool B.

 

The top team from Pool A (Kiowa County) met with the second place team from Pool B (Sublette) for a semi-final match-up. The top team from Pool B (South Central) met the second-place team from Pool A (Satanta) in a similar match-up. Kiowa County and South Central emerged as victors in these semi-final matches. Satanta and Sublette met to play for third and fourth place. The outcome of the consolation match saw Sublette take the win after playing two sets (25-23) (25-19). In the championship game, South Central took the win vs Kiowa County in three sets with the last match ending with a South Central victory (25-19). Final placings in the tournament were as follows: South Central, first; Kiowa County, second; Sublette, third; Satanta, fourth.
