Santa Set to Visit Satanta

By Jacob Loewen

The Satanta Chamber of Commerce invites the community to come to the Satanta Community Building on Saturday, December 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to meet Santa Claus. Bring your children to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what they want for Christmas. The Satanta yearbook staff will be attending this event to take pictures of children with Santa. These photos will be printed onsite and will cost $5 each. Cloverleaf 4H will offer hot chocolate and cookies for all those in attendance. They will collect donations to be given to the Satanta FCCLA Care Closets.

In addition to this, Satanta High School's student organizations will be there to provide activities for kids. FFA will have a station at which children can make reindeer food. FCCLA will have a table at which students can make a Christmas craft. NHS will help kids write a letter to Santa. The Satanta KAYs will be distributing Christmas books courtesy of the LiNK grant. The Science and History Club will be offering gift wrapping for a small fee.

This semester the student organizations at Satanta High School have focused on such events as a means of better connecting with the community. Ava Howie, SHS junior, said of these events: “I think it is very cool getting so involved in community events. These events allow me to practice my photography skills, and I’m excited to see all the little kids’ reactions when they see Santa!” Don't miss the fun!
