Satanta Jr. High Boys’ Basketball Experiences Success

The Satanta Junior High basketball season opened with a game at Hodgeman County on November 1, 2018. The boys emerged victorious, winning by a score of 49-25.The Indians next competed at Moscow on Tuesday, November 13 having had their original gameday postponed due to snow. The boys defeated Moscow by a lopsided score of 53-11. On November 15, the Indians traveled to Spearville. The boys’ score was 35-17, making their season 3-0. Before Thanksgiving Break, the teams traveled to Minneola where the boys moved to 4-0 with a score of 42-29. On November 29, the team played South Central at home. The boys continued their five-game winning streak by defeating the visiting Timberwolves 58-22.

The boys are coached by Joyce Apsley who is assisted by Tommy Nichols. Apsley said, “They come to practice everyday and work hard to be prepared for the upcoming game. My boys are very coachable, and I can throw any offense and defense and they can make it work.”

Catch the Indians in action as they take on Pawnee Heights on the road before ending 2018 with a stretch of home games against Ashland, Fowler, and Kiowa County. Visit www.usd507.org for details.
