Satanta Show Choir Shares Christmas Karaoke

By Claudia Jones

On December 11, 2018, Satanta High School Show Choir shared a Christmas karaoke experience with the seniors at Legacy Suites, which is adjacent to the Satanta District Hospital and Long-term Care Unit. Students Leslie Cabrera, Brittani Lauppe, and Nestor Salcedo sang “Rise” by Jonas Blue, and “All the Lights in the House are on” by Trace Adkins.

The small but might show choir also put on karaoke show including performances of “Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer,” “Jingle Bells,” and “We Wish you a Merry Christmas” to spread the Christmas spirit around the hospital. “It was fun, and we all got to stay and eat,” said Salcedo. After all performances, the show choir joined the seniors for lunch at Legacy Suites. “It was such amazing experience; the food was amazing and so was the crowd. They gave such warm smiles, and I can’t wait to go back and sing again,” said Cabrera.

Mr. Craig Lyman, junior high and high school music teacher, and his students had a terrific experience and hope to provide more entertainment to both the neighbors at Legacy Suites and the residents of the long-term care unit.
