Starting the School Year with a Splash
By Yanitza Aranda
After taking a year off due to COVID, the school year was officially kicked off with the Student Council back-to-school swim party on Aug. 27. The traditional event offers high school students an opportunity to get to know each other and catch up, and it's also a great opportunity for incoming freshmen to meet the upperclassmen.
In addition to having the city pool all to themselves for a couple of hours, attendees feasted on grilled hot dogs, chips, and lemonade throughout the evening. Student Council president Sean Wagner estimated that approximately 35 students and several teachers and their families attended.
