Grade School Students Have Fun on Fall Field Trips
by Janet Basilio
One tradition that has continued for the youngest students in the district is the annual fall field trip sponsored in part by the Satanta Teachers’ Association. While it had originally only involved a trip to the pumpkin patch, within the last couple of years, the trip was expanded to include a local apple orchard as well.
On Oct. 1st, the pre-K and kindergarten students traveled to the apple orchard, where they had a fun time looking at the many different types of apples. On Oct. 8th, the first and second graders traveled to the pumpkin patch. While they were there, they got to go through a corn maze, play some pumpkin patch games, and choose a pumpkin to take home.
Thanks to the beautiful weather, the kids enjoyed the time spent with their peers and teachers.
