Kansas Day is Wednesday, January 29. Satanta Grade School students, wear a Kansas shirt to school--it could be a Kansas team, school, or place in Kansas. Remember, Satanta is in Kansas, so your TRIBE shirt works!
We have a full week of basketball this week! On Monday, the HS girls take on Minneola at 1:15 in United Wireless Arena, while the boys play Minneola at 1:15 on Tuesday. Remember that United Wireless has a clear bag policy, and league passes are not accepted. On Wednesday, the junior high teams travel to Pawnee Heights for make-up games. There will be a half B Girls game at 3:00, followed by B Boys at 3:30, A Girls at 4:30, and A Boys at 5:45. The high school teams will be back in action on Thursday and Friday, times TBD. Come out and support your Indians on the road!

Satanta National Honor Society (NHS) and Satanta Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) are teaming up to host a Prom Shop for students who may need assistance with the financial costs of Prom. 💃🤵♂️
We are asking our amazing community members to come together and donate new or gently used formal wear for both men and women to the USD 507 Care Closet. This is your chance to help make Prom an unforgettable experience for all students! 💖✨
Donation Details:
Items Needed: Dresses, suits, ties, shoes, accessories, and other formal wear.
Deadline: Donations must be received by February 11.
Drop-off Locations: USD 507 Care Closet or Satanta High School.

Time: During Parent-Teacher Conferences, 8 am to 8 pm (or by appointment)

This event is open to the public, and students will have the opportunity to select formal wear at no cost.

Our January birthday crew is ready to share birthday wishes!

Congratulations to our junior high spelling bee medalists: Dylan Jackson, first; Aiden McDonald, second; Colton Claassen, third; and Avery Dunn, fourth.
Dylan, Aiden, and Colton will represent our school at the Haskell County Bee on February 12 at Sublette High School at 1:30 p.m. Avery will serve as our alternate.
USD 507 will have a late start on Tuesday, January 21. Classes begin at 10 a.m. No morning PreK.
Today's Care Closet Open House was a success! Both NHS and FCCLA members were in attendance, as were their sponsors, Ryan Burrows and Erika Alexander. We have significantly reduced our stockpile of clothing and created a list of needed items based on what we were able to give away today. For example, there is a high demand for children's clothing, which we have very little of, and we could use more of the types of clothing our tweens and teens prefer: hoodies, sweatpants, and t-shirts. Satanta apparel remains a fan favorite! Additionally, we have given away most of our shoes. Please consider donating these items.
We are now ready to accept donations of personal hygiene items, including soap, shampoo, deodorant, and toothpaste.
Finally, we are planning to host a Prom Shop Open House in the near future to help ensure every student who attends prom does so with confidence. We would love to receive your gently used dresses, formal shoes, and jewelry.

3rd, 4th, and 5th graders made snow sleds! We sled them down a “snow ramp” to see which group would slide the farthest!
We have been exploring polar animals from the arctic this week in Elementary Explorations! We made Polar Bear dens in kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades.
We made igloos in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.
The Haskell County Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday, February 12, at 1:30 p.m. in the Sublette High School Auditorium.
Senior parents are holding a student auction to support After Prom.
All stakeholders are invited to a site council meeting tonight at 5:30 in the SHS library to learn about our new Leader in Me program and the school improvement process.
