School is out for the summer, but there is still plenty for kids to do in Satanta!

USD 507, Satanta: Summer Foods Program: Weekdays June 1 through July 29 and August 15-19 at Satanta Elementary School. Breakfast: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m; Lunch 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Free to all children 18 months - 18 years of age; adult breakfast: $2.25, adult lunch:$4. No paperwork required. 

Dudley Township Library, Summer Reading Program:  

Program runs June 6-July 15 with 1:00 p.m. classes

  • Mondays/Wednesdays for students who have completed grades K-2

  • Tuesdays/Thursdays for students who have completed grades 3-5

  • Teens meet Fridays at 4:00 p.m. 

Wild West Summer Day Camp (Haskell Co. 4H)

  • July 13 (9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.)

  • Haskell County Fairgrounds (Sublette), Commercial Building

  • $5 per child (ages 5-10)

Three sessions for students in grades K-12 (Contact Ryan and Karen Burrows for details!)

  • Session One, June 6 to June 16 (Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)

  • Session Two, June 20 to June 30 (Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)

  • Session Three (Jumpstart!), August 15 to August 19 (Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)

Satanta Area Arts Council, Kids’ College 

August 8-12 (9:00 a.m. to noon) at the Satanta Community Building with three age-divisions 

  • Lawrence-based artist Kim Brook will provide a five-day COLOR EXPLOSION.

  • Evening classes for adults August 8, 9, and 11.

  • Art in the Park, August 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Apache Park

Satanta City Pool: Open seven days a week, noon to 6:00 p.m., Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Children under 5, free in the baby pool; 6-17 years $1.00; 18 - older - $1.50. Consider a season pass!
