Congratulations to our William Allen White readers for October!

Looks like we have some colder days ahead. As long as the wind chill is above 20 degrees, we try to take kids outside for recess. Please make sure students are dressed appropriately for the weather.
If you need assistance with warm weather clothes, please let us know.

USD 507 will honor veterans at a Veterans Day program in the Satanta Grade School gym at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 11. The SHS choir will perform, and SGS students will share readings. We will serve a Thanksgiving feast for our students and families on Monday, November 21, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We would love to have you join us on this day to eat lunch with your child. We will start serving the Kindergarten students at 11:15 and will work our way to 5th grade, hoping to be done by 12:30. Please purchase tickets in the grade school office before the meal.
The cost for guests is $5 per meal.
We hope you will be able to join us!

Third, fourth, and fifth graders made pumpkins for their friends at the LTCU.

SGS will celebrate Halloween on Monday, October 31. We will begin our Halloween parade at 2:15. Students will leave the school and walk down Wichita to Legacy Suites. They will parade in front of Legacy Suites and the Long Term Care Unit, around the pharmacy, and along the back of the LTCU. They will circle around to return down Arapahoe by Apache Park. Feel free to wait along the parade route to watch the students.
In case of inclement weather, the parade will be canceled.
After the parade, students will return to their classrooms for Halloween parties.
Please have students wear school clothes in the morning and bring their costumes to school. They will change into their costumes before the parade. Please select costumes that students can put on with minimal adult assistance as parents will not be allowed into classrooms. Costumes should also be appropriate for school--no overly scary or gory costumes, or costumes that do not meet the dress code.
If you do not want your child to participate in Halloween activities, please let us know by Friday, October 28. You may either pick your child up from school before the activities, or we will provide alternate activities for your child. Please let us know if you plan to pick your child up from school.
