USD 507 2025-26 School Calendar

State golf send off! Monday, May 25, 2:50 p.m. The send off will begin in the SHS parking lot and then head down Main Street and by the City Pool. Come out and show your support for Erik as he heads out to compete at state golf!

This is the final week to sign up for the Satanta Junior Golf Camp, as the registration deadline is May 30th! This is a great opportunity to introduce your child to the game of golf — a sport they can enjoy for a lifetime — or to help them continue improving their skills. Be sure to get signed up before the deadline. We look forward to seeing all the junior golfers on June 8th!

Due the forecast this Thursday calling for evening thunderstorms at Tribune (Greeley County High School), Regional Track has been moved from Thursday (5/21) to Friday (5/22). Field events will begin at 1:00 pm and running prelims will begin at 3:00 pm.

It’s Postseason Softball time for our Haskell County softball team! They hit the road to Beloit to take on the Trojans in the quarterfinals of the Class 3A Regional 4 Softball Tournament, with first pitch set for 4:00 PM. Head over to Beloit and support our softball girls as they begin postseason play!

The season comes to a close for our other four golfers. We would like to give one final thank you to our seniors, Noe and Roman. Without these two coming out for golf, we would not have been able to post team scores at our tournaments. They helped lay the foundation and set the benchmark for the future of Satanta Golf.

We are extremely proud of our seniors, as well as Edgar and Agus, who all showed tremendous improvement throughout the entire season. Great work, golfers!

It’s Tournament Day for our High School golf team! They are heading back to Mariah Hills in Dodge City for the 1A Sub-State Tournament with a 9:00 AM start time. Head over to Dodge City and support our golfers as they battle for a spot in next week’s State Golf Tournament!

Thank you to everyone who attended today’s Medical Relief Fundraising Meal at the Community Building in support of the Maggie Leyva family! Thanks to the generosity of the Satanta Community Foundation, which covered the cost of the enchiladas, rice, and beans; the many talented community members who donated cakes; the hard work of the Satanta High School Classes of 2029 and 2031 and their outstanding parents; and the support of the Satanta Chamber of Commerce, a total of $3,577 was raised to help support the Leyva family. The turnout and generosity shown today were a powerful reminder of what makes the Satanta community so special!

Satanta Jr.-Sr. High School is proud to recognize Mrs. Courtney Dunn as its Teacher of the Quarter. A veteran business teacher and yearbook sponsor, Mrs. Dunn has made a huge impact on students through her positivity, encouragement, and dedication to the school. Along with teaching business classes, she and her yearbook staff take all USD 507 school pictures, team photos, and activity photos throughout the year. Her work in student journalism has also created incredible opportunities for students, including attending a trip to Nashville in the fall of 2025. Student nominators praised Mrs. Dunn for always being supportive, positive, and willing to help students however she can. Adam Olivas shared that “Mrs. Dunn helps me a lot not just in class, but in the outside world as well. When I’m having a bad day, she brings me up and has been helping me for college.” Makennan Kraemer wrote that “she is always positive and trying to help wherever she can.” Whether she is helping students prepare for the future, listening to their stories, or simply brightening someone’s day with a smile, Mrs. Dunn continues to make a difference at Satanta Schools. Congratulations, Mrs. Dunn!
