Results from tonight's football Jamboree in Greensburg. Here is an explanation of how it was ran:
The Jamboree consisted of three teams, in the first session team A ran 18 offensive plays against team B and then ran 18 defensive plays against team B. Then in the second session team A ran 18 offensive plays against team C and then ran 18 defensive plays against team C . Unlike a regular football game a touchdown goes down as 1 point and there are NO extra point or two point conversion attempts.

In our boys’ first session they went up against Hodgeman County, the 21st-ranked team in the state, and lost 1-0 on the last play of the session.

In the second session, our boys went up against Kiowa County, the 43rd-ranked team in the state, and lost by a score of 2-0.

Although the results weren’t what we hoped for, our players and coaching staff are very excited for the season and can’t wait to officially kick things off next Friday against Sublette!

The USD 507 Care Closet is once again ready to accept donations of new and gently used clothing, shoes, and basic household items for distribution to the families we serve.

This student-led initiative, organized by members of National Honor Society (NHS) and FCCLA, plays a vital role in supporting the Satanta school community. While children’s clothing is especially needed, we gladly accept clean clothing of all sizes, along with shoes, coats, gloves, and hats. Items such as formal dresses, athletic shoes, backpacks, and lunchboxes are also in high demand, and Satanta-branded apparel is always appreciated.

In addition to clothing, donations of non-perishable food and personal care items are urgently needed. Ready-to-eat foods help students facing food insecurity, while toiletries such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, and toothpaste provide essential support. We also welcome “niceties” such as hand lotion, body sprays, and similar items that help students feel confident and cared for.

The Care Closet also includes a section of books, encouraging literacy and a love of reading. Gently used children’s books, young adult novels, and family-friendly titles are especially welcome so that students and families can take home something enjoyable to read alongside their other needed supplies.

To schedule a donation drop-off—or if your family is in need of assistance—please contact Ryan Burrows at rburrows@usd507.org or by text at 620-649-7167.
