SJH Fall Standout Athlete, Ava Manriquez. According to her coach, "Ava Manriquez showed great leadership throughout our volleyball season. She made sure to keep the team on task during our practices and did well keeping her grades up in the classroom. Whether she was on the court or on the sidelines, she was vocal and a great asset to our team. I was proud to have coached her for all three of her junior high volleyball years." We are proud of you, Ava!

The Satanta High School Scholars' Bowl team placed first out of 18 team competing at Lakin High School last night. This is the team's third first-place finish over the last three tournaments!

Check out the 2001 cover painted by Senior Anai Sanchez! This is her fourth tile!

SHS Fall Standout Athlete, Mia Burrows. According to her coach, "Mia is always helpful to me by getting the balls out and putting them away. She shags during and after every drill. I never have to ask her to do it, but some days I have to tell her she can't, so someone else will. She always finishes at the front of the line during warm up stair laps, even as she is gasping for air! She is drenched in sweat because she is truly working hard every day. She is positive to ALL her teammates and coaches, makes encouraging comments to them when they get their serves over (if they have been struggling), when they complete a good pass, and when in the stands cheering for the JV team at games. She never gives me attitude, but listens, stays focused, asks how she can get better, and tries to lead her teammates on a positive path. She also reaches out to our younger kids and includes them in activities, gives them her attention, and really helps to build relationships. " We are proud of you, Mia!

Art Instructor Christine Ramirez absolutely nailed this project with her stunning replica of the 1957 Chieftain!

During the month of November, SGS will host a Blessing Table in the entryway. Families and the community are invited to leave food donations on the table for those in need. We encourage donations of kid-friendly items like granola bars and mac & cheese cups, but all donations will be accepted. Students and families are free to take items before and after school.
