Support shirts for Silas Wood are available for purchase. Due to a generous donation, each Satanta Grade School student will receive a free t-shirt. Should you desire to buy extra "Silas Strong" shirts, priced at $20.00 each, the production cost of each shirt has also been covered, and all proceeds from these shirt sales will directly contribute to supporting Silas Wood's family with their travel and treatment expenses. Payments can be made upon pickup at the Satanta District Office. After Spring Break, Shannon Indiek, LMSW with Hope and Healing Counseling, will begin providing services to children and young adults in our community. Shannon has worked as a licensed therapist for almost 4 years and is looking forward to seeing students in the USD 507 district. Shannon will be able to provide services during school hours in both Satanta Grade School and Satanta Jr. Sr. High School. Hope and Healing Counseling accepts most health insurance and is able to work with families who are uninsured. Please contact Shannon with any questions or concerns or to set up appointments. These services are not affiliated with USD 507. Families are responsible for setting up appointments and making arrangements for payment.

Did you know that in the 2022-23 school year, USD 507 Satanta spent $112,000 out of the general fund on special education services? This is due to a lack of special education funding and is the equivalent of more than two teacher salaries. When special education is not fully funded at the state and federal levels, local school districts must fill in the gap from the general fund, which affects educational opportunities for all students. #DYKKansasKids @USAKansas @kasbpublicEd @ksdehq @aasahq
