PowerSchool, our district’s Student Information System provider, has informed us of a nationwide data breach in their system. We have been working to gather additional information and will continue to do so. According to PowerSchool, there is no longer an active threat. However, it may have affected the data of our employees, students, and their families. We are taking steps internally to protect data security, including changing passwords and PowerSchool settings.
USD 507 is serious about protecting the security and privacy of all data. At this time, we are waiting for additional information from PowerSchool and guidance from state officials. We promise to do everything we can to learn more and will communicate directly with parents, guardians, and employees.

The SGS Spelling bee will be held on Tuesday, January 14, at 2:30 in the SGS gym.

This week we are recognizing Sidra Kraemer, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade ELA teacher. Mrs. Kraemer finds creative ways to bring learning to life for her students all year round!

The USD 507 Care Closet is overflowing with clothing and shoe donations! Please join us on Sunday, January 19 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Satanta High School to shop for FREE items for yourself and your family. Our Care Closet is located in the last classroom on the junior high wing. Please park in the large lot to the east of the main building. After this event, we will once again be accepting donations of new and gently used clothing and shoes, and we hope to expand our service to include personal hygiene products.

Santa's Donut Stop is tomorrow from 7:35 to 8:05. The front doors and the cafeteria doors will both be open. SGS students and younger siblings eat free. Each student may bring one adult for free. If you are bringing additional adults, please either purchase a ticket in the office today, or bring exact change or a check ($3 per meal). We will not be able to make change tomorrow morning. Santa will be there, and we will have a photo backdrop for families.
