Congratulations to Jalynn Hockett, who auditioned and qualified for Five State Honor Band. He will attend Five State Band on Friday, December 12, in Guymon, Oklahoma. Congratulations, Jalynn, and great job to all students who auditioned. We are proud of you!

Here's what's going on at SJHS this week. Remember to purchase tickets or bring exact change for the Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday if you'd like to eat with your students! Guests are $6.00 each. Kindergarten will begin at 11:00 AM with grades following. JHHS students will eat at 11:40 at the Grade School.

SHS junior Mia Burrows represented the SPIAA league at a KSHSAA student summit. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts with KSHSAA leaders.

Our Satanta High School FFA Team was in Garden City yesterday morning for the Milk Quality FFA Event where our team finished 9th!

This event is being co-hosted by the Satanta Chamber of Commerce and USD 507 and will run between 10:00 a.m. and noon.

This afternoon, Meade High School's Lori Bigler accepted a $700 grant check from the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas in support of the continuation of the SPIAA Big Read on behalf of grant writer, Ryan Burrows.
The timing was perfect as the SPIAA Big Read Culminating Event, hosted by Kiowa County, was held today.
The project portion of the Big Read is up next!
